Iguanas get on the roof to bask in the sun safe from harassment. They are cold blooded, so iguanas seek safe sunny areas to sit.. and poop around mid-day. During rain, the poop often runs over walkways from rain gutters, or simply off the roof. Walking through this deification can lead to sickness by salmonella bacteria carried by some iguanas.
